Ederson: Manchester City goalkeeper forced to deny he supports Tommy Robinson after being pictured with the far-right extremist

Ederson has been forced to deny he supports far-right extremist Tommy Robinson after a picture of the pair appeared online.

The Manchester City goalkeeper posed for a photograph with the co-founder of the English Defence League (EDL).

The image was then shared on social media with the message: â€Å“Tommy Robinson meeting city’s golden boy @edersonmoraes93 last night, has his full support while in Manchester.”

The Brazil international, however, insists he was unaware of who Robinson was when asked for a picture.

He has since been informed and categorically denied he supported him or his ideas.

Ederson wrote on Twitter: â€Å“People have made me aware of who this guy is. I definitely not support this guy or his ideas.

â€Å“He stopped me for a picture. I had no idea who he was. (Do not be a liar).”

Ederson signed for Manchester City in 2017 for £35million and has gone on to make 87 appearances for the side.

He won the Premier League with the club in his first season and could make it back-to-back titles as his side are currently top of the table.
