Noel Gallagher explains why Manchester City will rule over Man United for years to come

Noel Gallagher believes Manchester United will get ‘nowhere near’ his beloved City – as long as Pep Guardiola remains at the helm.

The Oasis legend and die-hard Manchester City fan, who joined in the celebrations as Guardiola’s men were crowned champions on Sunday, sees no end to the club’s Premier League dominance.

Meanwhile, United’s woeful season ended in fitting fashion with a 2-0 defeat at home to relegated Cardiff to leave them without a win in their last six games.

While City pipped Liverpool to the title by a single point, they finished a staggering 32 points ahead of their Manchester rivals in sixth.

And Gallagher identifies a key difference between the two neighbouring clubs.

“It’s all about the team [at City],” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.

“The other mob in Stretford, they’re just buying individuals. You see [Alexis] Sanchez and [Paul] Pogba.

“They’re in trouble. They remind me of where we were in the late 1980s/early 90s – they’re just trying to buy their way out of trouble now.

“As long as Guardiola’s here, they’re not getting anywhere near us. No one is.”

In fact, Gallagher not only expects City to rule over Manchester for the foreseeable future – but also the whole of English football.

Liverpool pushed City all the way this season and finished second with a mind-blowing 97 points – and Gallagher suggests they won’t get so ‘jammy’ next campaign.

“Even next season, can Liverpool be any better than that? They’ve jammed it this season,” he added.

“I think next season, Liverpool don’t get near us either.”
