Daniel James could be worth £30million in the summer, according to former Wales international John Hartson.
James scored his first goal for Wales on Sunday in just his second appearance as they beat Slovakia 1-0.
The Swansea City winger has impressed in the Championship this season where he has scored twice and got four assists.
The 21-year-old particularly caught the eye against Manchester City in the FA Cup when his devastating pace helped the Welsh club go 2-0 up before going on to lose 3-2.
Leeds United chased James throughout the January transfer window and a deal was in place for him to move there.
He had his medical on deadline day but the deal collapsed when Swansea failed to sign off on the move.
And Hartson now believes the fee Leeds were going to pay for James could treble in the summer.
“He’s got a bright future,” Hartson told talkSPORT at the launch of the BT Sport Pub Cup.
“He scored a goal in his second cap where he was starting on the left-hand side. He has ridiculous pace and played well against Manchester City in the FA Cup.
“He was almost out of the door and was up at Leeds signing for £10million and he brought him back.
“I think that will treble now with the market the way it is.â€
