Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed insists he does have the £350million funds to buy Newcastle, according to reports.
The Arab billionaire’s Bin Zayed Group have come under scrutiny in the last 24 hours regarding the authenticity of their takeover attempt.
On Tuesday, Craig Hope, the north-east correspondent for The Daily Mail, told talkSPORT that Magpies fans should be ‘cautious’ about Sheikh Khaled’s buyout claims.
It has also been claimed that he is yet to provide proof of funds to buy the Premier League.
However, ChronicleLive say the Bin Zayed Group are adamant it is a matter of ‘when’, not ‘if’ they complete a £350million takeover.
And contrary to other reports, the group say they have provided proof of funds to relevant parties.
Newcastle fans are desperate for unpopular owner Mike Ashley to end his turbulent 12-year reign at St James’ Park.
On Monday, a statement released by the Bin Zayed Group said: “We can confirm that representatives of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan are in discussions with Mike Ashley and his team, about the proposed acquisition of Newcastle United Football Club.

“We have agreed terms and are working hard to complete the transaction at the earliest opportunity.”
Newcastle are yet to comment on Sheikh Khaled’s proposed takeover.
