Inter Milan’s Piero Ausilio has emerged as the latest candidate for Arsenal’s new director of football role.
The Gunners have been trying to fill the role for months and recently missed out on former Roma man Monchi, who opted for a return to Sevilla instead.
And now, FC Inter News claims the north Londoners have ‘requested information’ about Ausilio.
The 44-year-old, whose contract at the San Siro expires in 2020, is also linked with Roma as a potential replacement for Monchi.
However, it is understood the Italian is keen to stay with Inter, who he has worked with for the last 21 years, and will meet with club officials to discuss his future in the coming weeks.

Arsenal were left disappointed when Monchi rejected their three-year offer in favour of a second spell at Sevilla.
“I thank Arsenal for their interest,†Monchi said.
“It has been the club that has shown the most interest in me but, in the end, I evaluated all of the offers I had on the table and I chose the one that convinced me most.
“I had other options, and very important ones that were flashier, but I’ve chosen Seville because its sporting project convinced me.
“Many people outside of Seville have told me that I’ve made the wrong choice, that sequels are never good. I’ve evaluated all of this.â€
Another target, former player and Ajax director of football Marc Overmars, has signed a new contract with the Dutch club, keeping him there until at least 2024.
