Ajax 2-3 Tottenham: Spurs hero Lucas Moura becomes just 10th player EVER to get perfect 10/10 player rating from L’Equipe

Tottenham’s hopes of reaching their first ever Champions League final looked dead and buried after 35 minutes of Wednesday’s semi-final second leg clash against Ajax.

Goals from Matthijs de Ligt and Hakim Ziyech had seemingly put the tie out of reach for Mauricio Pochettino’s men going into half-time.

Lucas Moura instantly became a Tottenham legend with his second-half display in Amsterdam

Fortunately for the north Londoners, Lucas Moura had other ideas and netted a sensational hat-trick, including a late goal in the dying seconds of the match, to send Spurs to the Champions League final and leave Pochettino in floods of tears on the pitch.

The Brazilian was a man possessed and his grit and determination has now been echoed in L’Equipe’s famous player ratings.

The French newspaper are notoriously tough critics but they handed Moura a 10/10 rating for his display – with the 26-year-old becoming just the 10th player in history to achieve the feat.

Dusan Tadic

Tadic put in a performance for the ages for Ajax against Real Madrid in the last-16 of the competition this year.

The playmaker tore the reigning European champions’ defence apart – beautifully assisting two goals and adding one of his own as his side thrashed Los Blancos at the Bernebeu to send them crashing out of Europe.

However, the Serb was powerless to prevent his side’s defeat to Spurs on Wednesday.

Neymar

Neymar achieved a 10/10 rating in PSG’s 8-0 thrashing of Dijon in 2018.

He scored twice and assisted twice as the French champions recorded their biggest ever home victory.

Carlos Eduardo

Eduardo was another Brazilian to achieve the top rating for a performance by L’Equipe.

Eduardo scored five for Nice against Guingamp

He became the first French Championship player to earn a 10/10 rating after scoring five for Nice against Guingamp in 2014.

Robert Lewandowski

Lewandowki was given a 10/10 rating for his Champions League heroics against Real Madrid in 2013.

Lewandowski scored four against Real Madrid in 2013

The Pole scored four as Borussia Dortmund thrashed Los Blancos at home in the first leg of their tie.

Lionel Messi (Twice)

Messi is the only player in history to be given a 10/10 rating twice by L’Equipe.

His first came against Arsenal in 2010, where he netted all four goals against the Gunners in a 4-1 victory.

Oleg Salenko

Salenko earned a 10/10 rating after scoring five goals in a game at the 1994 World Cup in the United States.

The Russian netted his quintet against Cameroon, finishing joint top scorer at the tournament despite being knocked out at the group stage.

Lars Windfeld

In 1997, goalkeeper Windfeld achieved a 10/10 rating after scoring from a goal kick for Nantes.
