Champions League final: Liverpool fan found in Madrid but Tottenham supporter remains missing

A Liverpool supporter missing in Madrid since Saturday’s Champions League final has now been found, though a Tottenham fan remains unaccounted for in Spain’s capital.

Macauley Negus, a 23-year-old from Plymouth, has been located, his brother, Ashley, confirmed on social media platform Twitter.

“To everyone who has helped my family during this tough time I want to say thank you,” Mr Negus wrote. “We have now found Macauley. I will update a statement this evening!

“My family wants everyone to know we our forever in your debt as with out your help we would not have found him thank you everyone.

Appeals had been put on social media asking for help finding Mr Negus, who went missing in the hours following Saturday’s Champions League final in Madrid.

He was last seen in the Goya region of the city at 10:30pm, wearing an all-white outfit, and was due to drive back to the United Kingdom on Sunday.

His brother had earlier put out a picture of Mr Negus on Twitter, while on Instagram his sister-in-law Carla Negus appealed for information regarding his whereabouts.

45-year-old Tottenham follower Ryan Quinn remains missing, however, having been watching the match with his stepson in Madrid.

A post shared on the ‘Tottenham Hotspur Football Club Est 1882 Fan’s Page’ confirmed that Mr Quinn had been in contact with his father on Sunday morning, but he has not been seen since.

“Ryan was out in Madrid watching the Tottenham v Liverpool game last night – he was split from his stepson in Colon Squad Madrid and couldn’t remember what hotel he was staying at,” the post read.

“He managed to somehow contact his dad back in the UK at 8am and let him know that he couldn’t remember his hotel but that he was at the stadium.

“His stepson headed straight there to get him but he wasn’t there when he got there and no one has heard from him since or seen him, this is totally out of character for him and his family are going out of their minds!

“Police have said they can’t help yet as his family heard from him at 8am.”
