Geoffrey Boycott has defended his interview with Manchester United’s in-house TV channel when he dubbed the club’s season a ‘disappointment’.
The former England cricketer and famous United fan received praise from other supporters for his honest answers on MUTV.

Manchester United will not be playing Champions League football next season
“Disappointment, more than anything,” said Boycott of this season, which saw United miss out on Champions League football.
“The football hasn’t been inspiring, if anything they’ve let themselves and the people that support them down.”
In an attempt to change the subject, MUTV presenter Mark Sullivan asked Boycott about the future under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and the 78-year-old replied: “He doesn’t have a record of experience.”

While his interview has caused hilarity on social media, Boycott took to Twitter to defend his comments.
He said: “When MUTV requested an interview at the Player of the Year Awards I don’t believe my answers were untrue or unfair.
