Manchester United have received a huge boost in their pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt – because his agent would rather the Dutchman moved to Old Trafford over Barcelona, reports claim.
The Ajax defender, 19, has captured the interest of several top clubs around Europe, including Liverpool, after an incredible season which has seen him captain the Dutch club to the last four of the Champions League.

Barcelona are known admirers of the Dutchman and they have already snapped up his domestic and international team-mate Frenkie de Jong ahead of the summer transfer window.
But according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, De Ligt’s agent thinks United would pay a higher price than Barcelona to both player and agent.
Mina Raiola, who represents a number of high-profile stars including Paul Pogba, reportedly expects more of an economic benefit from a move to Juventus or Bayern Munich as well as United.
