Former Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has revealed how Louis van Gaal ‘p***** himself laughing’ when he found out about his boxing video.
Footage of Rooney being knocked out by pal Phil Bardsley went viral in March 2015 and was front page news.
The 33-year-old informed Van Gaal – his manager – the story was coming out and the Dutchman could not control his laughter.
Speaking on Eddie Hearn’s No Passion, No Point podcast, Rooney said: “When it was coming out, I went to see van Gaal.
“I said ‘this story’s coming out about me and Phil Bardsley fighting in the house’.
“And he p***** himself laughing. He found it hilarious.”
Rooney responded to the story by mimicking the KO in his goal celebration after netting in a 3-0 win over Tottenham.
He went on to say how he and Bardsley box each other on a regular basis.
The ex-England star added: “On the night with Bardo, we’d been out. After that, we went home and put on the gloves on.

“We do it quite regularly. We’ve done worse but that got out.
“The video stops when I get knocked down – but I actually get up and we carry on fighting.
“When we finished, the two of us were just sitting there. My nose had gone and Bardo’s got blood pouring out of his mouth.”
